Job summary

RGA Enterprise Services Company in Hong Kong seeks a senior full stack engineer to design and deliver API-based applications with a cloud-first approach. You will lead architecture, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support, while mentoring teammates and driving quality improvements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software development, deep insurance/reinsurance domain knowledge, and broad experience across frontend, backend and DevOps tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree and/or LOMA certification preferred.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 8+ years in insurance and/or reinsurance domain knowledge.
• Experience with multiple databases and cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in frontend, backend, and DevOps tooling.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

A Brief Overview

Independently uses deep industry experience along with diverse product knowledge to understand, diagnose, communicate and implement timely decisions on extremely complicated or ambiguous technical problems. A full stack engineer with deep proficiency in general programming languages, frameworks and deployment methodologies who creates API-based applications from concept to finished product with a cloud-first emphasis. Collaborates with technical teams to build and deploy effective and efficient applications with well-tested code.

• Provides team members with industry and/or product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) and/or LOMA certification preferred.
• 10+ Years of software development experience.
• 8+ Years of insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
• Experience with a variety of database technologies.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud provider preferred.
• Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments.
• Proficiency in a variety of general programming languages.
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development.
• Proficiency in containerization.
• Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information.
• Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or difficult information.
• JavaScript/Java/Groovy/Go/C#/.Net/Python/NodeJS, Docker/Kubernetes, relational/NoSQL database, Terraform/Ansible, Shell preferred.
