Starbridge Investment Management is a Hong Kong-based investment firm preparing to launch a quantamental, long-biased US equities strategy, combining quantitative models with fundamental research and discretionary judgment. We are completing the investment team ahead of launch.

This is an investment seat covering US equities across sectors. You will conduct top-down and bottom-up research, generate and present ideas, and own the assumptions behind them. Decisions are made collectively by a small senior team, and the role reports to the Chief Investment Officer. You will also work with the quantitative desk, feeding fundamental observations into the firm's models and research process.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Responsible Officer for Type 9 (Asset Management), subject to SFC approval, and as Manager-In-Charge of a Key Business Line, and will carry the oversight responsibilities that come with both.

Requirements

Please apply only if you meet the requirements below.

  • You are currently an SFC Type 9 Responsible Officer, or were one within the last six months. We will also consider licensed representatives with at least three years of experience as a portfolio manager or associate portfolio manager who meet the requirements for Type 9 RO approval.
  • At least seven years of buy-side experience, with investment ideas you originated and that were implemented in client portfolios.
  • Substantial US equity research experience, whether currently covering the market or returning to it.
  • At least two years' experience leading or mentoring analysts.
  • Strong top-down and bottom-up research, financial modelling, valuation, and the confidence to sit across the table from management.
  • Curious and data-driven, with the patience to go deep on a name. Quantitative skills are a plus, not a requirement.
  • Fluent English; Mandarin or Cantonese a plus.

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a discretionary bonus. A performance-linked profit share may also be available. Title will reflect experience. Expected start date: February or March 2027.
