Job summary

BBPOS, now part of Stripe’s Terminal business, seeks a Senior Accountant to drive the end-to-end month-end close for Hong Kong operations. You will prepare detailed financial schedules, manage accruals, and compile group reports, ensuring data integrity and strict controls.

The role emphasizes automation through Power Automate and VBA to streamline repeat tasks. You will oversee high-volume vendor invoices, reconcile customer and supplier statements, and support bi-annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 10-15 years of corporate accounting experience with process optimization.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Experience maintaining data integrity and internal controls.
• Proficient in Excel functions (array formulas, INDEX-MATCH).
• Experience with PivotTables/PivotCharts for real-time reporting.
• Power Query/Power Pivot for data modeling and cross-entity consolidation.
• English, Cantonese and Mandarin fluent.

BBPOS is one of the world leaders in payment devices and the inventors of mPOS technology. BBPOS products are used by large retailers and leading online platforms across multiple industries. BBPOS is engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying mobile and smart point-of-sale hardware, and the underlying software and infrastructure to deploy, manage, and monitor those devices. BBPOS is now part of Stripe’s Terminal business since the acquisition in March 2022.

About the team

Post acquisition, the BBPOS team is now an extension of the Stripe Terminal team. Stripe Terminal helps Stripe users extend their online presence into the physical world. The Terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments. With Terminal, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business model—whether it’s creating a flagship retail experience, extending their website to a pop-up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at their next event.

What you’ll do

• Own the end-to-end month-end close process for HK operations, including the preparation of detailed financial schedules, managing expense accruals, and compiling Stripe group reporting packages.
• Perform quarterly Accounts Receivable (AR) and inventory provision computations, ensuring data integrity and strict adherence to company compliance standards.
• Oversee high-volume vendor invoice processing and trade Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring precise categorization and timely settlement.
• Champion process improvement initiatives by developing automated workflows (utilizing Power Automate and VBA) to streamline recurring financial tasks, reduce manual effort, and accelerate reporting speed.
• Manage judgment-heavy reconciliations for customer and supplier statements, assist in maintaining accurate HK books of record, enforce rigorous budget checks, and provide critical support for bi-annual audits.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in a corporate accounting role with a proven track record of optimizing manual finance processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently to meet tight, high-stakes reporting deadlines.
• Proven experience in maintaining financial data integrity and enforcing internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in array formulas, nested IF statements, and INDEX-MATCH functions.
• Extensive experience with PivotTables and PivotCharts for real-time financial reporting.
• Proficient in Power Query and Power Pivot for complex data modeling and cross-entity consolidation.
• High level of organizational thoroughness and accuracy and rigor in reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining complex datasets or documentation.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin are required.

Preferred qualifications

• Demonstrated capability in building end-to-end process automation using VBA macros and Power Automate.
• Ability to design intuitive dashboards that simplify complex financial trends for stakeholders.
• Prior experience in managing or supporting end-to-end audit processes.
