Job summary

Accord Business Group (ABG) in Hong Kong is seeking a SAS Consultant with 3–5 years of hands-on SAS development, data analysis, ETL and reporting to join our team. You will work with business, data and technology teams to develop, maintain and optimize SAS-based data solutions, with exposure to financial services and data-intensive industries.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of hands-on SAS development/consulting.
• Strong SAS Base Programming skills.
• Knowledge of SAS SQL, DATA Step, PROC SQL, and macros.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with large datasets and performance tuning.
• SAS Enterprise Guide / SAS Management Console preferred.
• Experience with SAS DI Studio / SAS Visual Analytics / SAS Viya a plus.
• Exposure to Unix/Linux scripting desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize SAS programs, datasets, reports, and analytical solutions.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, cleansing, and analysis using SAS.
• Develop and maintain SAS ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and SAS-based solutions.
• Perform data quality checks and investigate data discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain recurring operational and management reports.
• Optimize SAS code and processes for performance and scalability.
• Participate in application enhancements, production support, issue resolution, and troubleshooting.
• Work with cross-functional teams including business analysts, data engineers, risk teams, and technology teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, test cases, and deployment/support documentation.
• Support user acceptance testing and resolve defects within agreed timelines.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled SAS Consultant with 3-5 years of experience to join our team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SAS programming, data analysis, ETL, and reporting, with exposure to financial services, banking, insurance, or other data-intensive industries.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology teams to develop, maintain, and optimize SAS-based data and analytical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in SAS Base Programming.
• Good knowledge of SAS SQL, DATA Step, PROC SQL, and macros.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience working with large datasets and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide / SAS Management Console is preferred.
• Experience with SAS DI Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, or SAS Viya will be an advantage.
• Exposure to Unix/Linux scripting and scheduling tools is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of SDLC, testing, deployment, and production support processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
