Job summary

Dao Kee Construction Company Limited is seeking a Registered Safety Officer with the Labour Department to join our on-site safety team in Hong Kong. The role requires a Degree or Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health with at least 5 years in construction, and a preference for HKHA maintenance project experience.

Bilingual English/Chinese and solid computer skills are essential. You will lead the site safety team, conduct inspections, training, and liaise with personnel, subcontractors

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
• HKHA maintenance project experience preferred.
• Proficient in English and Chinese.
• Hands-on computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety regulations compliance through frequent site inspections, training and liaison with site personnel, subcontractors and government officials.
• Assist management in monitoring safety performance and provide safety advice to site management.
• Ensure first aid facilities are available and equipment is maintained.
• Assist in accident investigation and recommend preventive measures.
• Implement Company safety policy and ensure site safety standards are met.
• Lead the site safety team.
• Plan, execute, and improve Safety Management System to achieve best practices.
• Create, review and update Safety Management Manual.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to implement Safety Management System.
• Maintain relationship with internal departments to enhance safety management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure Safety Regulations are complied with by maintaining frequent site inspections, training and liaison with site personnel, subcontractors and government officials
• Assist site management in monitoring safety performance of workers and providing safety advice to site management from time to time
• Ensure with the assistance of qualified first aid personnel that all first aid facilities are available for use in emergencies, and all legally required equipment are maintained in good working conditions
• Assist in accident investigation, if any; and recommend preventive measures to the site management
• Implement the Company's policy on occupational safety and health and ensure the sites' safety standards are met
• Lead the site safety team
• Plan, execute, and improve Safety Management System to achieve best practices
• Create, review and update Safety Management Manual
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the team to implement the Safety Management System
• Maintain a close relationship with internal departments to enhance the health and safety management system
