Job summary

KUN Global in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Head of Risk Control to own the risk framework across cross-border payments. You will cover onboarding, transaction monitoring, proactive alerting, and post-incident handling across markets including Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US.

Lead collaboration between rule engines and AI models, build performance dashboards, and support rapid business expansion within a controlled risk envelope.

Qualifications

• 5+ years risk control experience in cross-border fintech.
• Experience designing risk controls for onboarding, transaction monitoring and anti-fraud.
• Hands-on with rule engines and AI-model decisioning.

Responsibilities

• Own risk control strategy framework across onboarding, transaction monitoring, alerting and post-incident handling.
• Lead risk control solution design for cross-border B2B payments and VCC issuance with market-specific strategies.
• Optimize risk rule engines and decisioning; track hit rate, false positives and manual review rate.
• Improve risk identification and resolution by standardizing processes and leading post-incident reviews.
• Support risk assessments for new products, markets and business lines.

Own the risk control strategy framework across all business lines of cross-border payments, covering core scenarios including B2B merchant onboarding, transaction anti-fraud, and VCC card issuance risk control. With business spanning Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US, each market presents distinct risk profiles and fraud patterns, requiring differentiated control strategies rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Lead the collaborative decisioning mechanism between rule engines and AI models, build quantitative strategy performance dashboards, and support rapid business expansion within a controlled risk envelope.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Own the risk control strategy framework; design and optimize end-to-end strategies covering customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, proactive alerting, and post-incident handling; establish standardized risk control processes and tiered escalation mechanisms.
2. 2. Lead risk control solution design for B2B cross-border payment and VCC card issuance scenarios; develop differentiated control strategies tailored to the risk characteristics of markets such as Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US.
3. 3. Optimize risk rule engines and decision models; drive the adoption of collaborative rule-plus-AI-model decisioning; build strategy performance dashboards and continuously track and optimize core metrics such as hit rate, false positive rate, and manual review rate.
4. 4. Optimize risk review processes and standards to improve risk identification and resolution efficiency; lead emergency response and post-incident reviews for major risk events.
5. 5. Participate in risk assessments for new products, new businesses, and new markets; provide risk control solutions to business teams and support business expansion within a controlled risk envelope.

Requirements

1. 1. Bachelor's degree or above. 5+ years of risk control experience in cross-border payment/fintech, with B2B business risk scenario design experience; proficient in strategy design and implementation across core risk control domains such as transaction anti-fraud, customer onboarding risk control, and transaction monitoring.
2. 2. Familiar with the mechanics of risk rule engines and decisioning systems; hands-on experience implementing collaborative rule-plus-model decisioning; proficient in SQL or Python/R for strategy analysis and performance evaluation.
3. 3. Familiar with the risk characteristics of key markets including Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US, with the ability to design differentiated risk control solutions for different markets.
4. 4. Strong cross-functional collaboration and project delivery skills; able to balance business growth with risk tolerance in a fast-paced environment.
