Job summary

CITIC Securities International in Hong Kong is seeking a thematic research analyst to support the deep technologies coverage. You will help build and service financial models, analyze data and produce research products.

You will also compile news and provide commentary on stock and sector impacts, supporting analysts with client requests, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate or above in business-related or engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Experience in a large accountancy firm or startup will be considered.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of financial modelling and strong Excel skills.
• Creative storytelling abilities and strong PowerPoint skills.
• Strong sense of commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and management skills to both internal and external clients.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; Mandarin preferred.

Job description

This position is responsible for providing support to the Thematic Research team in their coverage of the deep technologies. The role is primarily responsible for assisting with the building and servicing of financial models, analysis of data, and the production of unique research product. The individual will also assist in compiling news and working with the analyst to provide commentary on the impact on the respective stocks and sectors.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Cover deeptech and energy companies
• Support thematic research team in preparation of market reports and presentations
• Retrieve and analyse information from databases, external data, industry sources and companies for the stocks under primary coverage within assigned sector
• Help track and analyse news relating to the sector
• Support sector research analysts with client requests
• Follow company results announcements, update financial models and records for specific companies under individual coverage
