Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a procurement professional to lead global commodity strategies for electronic components, manage supplier negotiations, and drive cost reductions while ensuring supply continuity.

You will partner with R&D and manufacturing to select cost-effective components, review BOMs, and implement dual-sourcing and inventory strategies to meet time-to-market goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, SCM, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing or direct procurement in electronics/high-tech manufacturing.
• Proficiency in reading BOMs and datasheets to identify viable second-source options.
• Strong negotiation, data analytics, contract management, and vendor governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies for electronic components.
• Identify, qualify, and audit global component manufacturers, suppliers, and franchised distributors.
• Drive quarterly cost reductions, negotiate volume pricing, secure rebate structures, and perform should-cost modeling on complex BOMs.
• Mitigate component allocation, long lead times, and single-source risks by establishing dual-sourcing strategies and strategic buffer stocks.
• Partner with R&D, Hardware Engineering, and NPI teams during design phases to recommend cost-effective, high-availability components and manage PCN/EOL lifecycle changes.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage Master Service Agreements, Volume Purchase Agreements, and Vendor Managed Inventory terms.

This role optimizes total cost of ownership , ensures supply continuity, and accelerates time-to-market for hardware product lines through strategic supplier partnerships and cross-functional engineering alignment.
