Job summary

The University of Hong Kong’s Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) invites applications for a Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer in Proteomics and Metabolomics Core. The role supports translational research through access to advanced MS-based platforms and comprehensive core facilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in Analytical Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or related field.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant laboratory experience in proteomics.
• Experience operating and maintaining state-of-the-art equipment (HPLC, GC, QQQ, Q-TOF, Orbitrap, QTRAP).
• Working knowledge of MS-based technologies; experience in a core facility is a plus.
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, meticulous and capable of working collaboratively in a team.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer

Responsibilities

• Operate sophisticated scientific instruments (HPLC, GC, QQQ, Q-TOF, Orbitrap, QTRAP) to support core services and research
• Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics
• Provide technical advice to users
• Evaluate and validate new technologies
