Job summary

The University of Hong Kong, Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS), is seeking a Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant to support core services for sample processing and equipment maintenance, and to assist data management in the Biobank Core using LIMS. The role involves liaising with users to coordinate service logistics.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or above in a related field, demonstrate a passion for science, and be proficient in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Prior experience in processing clinical samples would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in using microtome and cryostat for FFPE, and frozen tissue sectioning and embedding would be an advantage.
• Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer.
