Job summary

Veolia Hong Kong Holding Limited is seeking an experienced engineer to supervise the planning, design and operation of its landfill site in Hong Kong, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.

The role includes overseeing fill materials, landfill techniques, and interface issues across gas extraction, leachate treatment, and surface water management, while maintaining daily safety and operational efficiency. Excellent English and Chinese communication is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Relevant work experience will be given priority.
• Proficient in MS Office / Google applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and operate the landfill ensuring regulatory and industry standards.
• Oversee landfill operations including fill materials and techniques.
• Coordinate issues in WENT, filling sequence, gas extraction, leachate recirculation, and surface water management.

Job Description

• Responsible for the overall planning, design, and operation of the landfill, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
• Oversee landfill operations, including the selection of fill materials, application of landfill techniques, and management of fill areas.
• Interface issues in WENT, sequence of filling against weighbridge operation, gas extraction, leachate recirculation, surface water management and final capping
• Perform professional engineering works for WENTX interface issues like Landfill Filling Operation, Landfill Gas System, and Leachate Treatment System to meet performance and environmental standards
• Responsible for the daily maintenance of landfill facilities and daily operation, ensuring safety and operational effectiveness.
• Collect and analyze operational data from the landfill, preparing reports to assess filling efficiency and environmental indicators.
