Job summary

Veolia Hong Kong Holding Limited is recruiting for a Landfill Engineer to oversee the planning, design and operation of the landfill ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. You will manage fill materials, techniques, gas extraction, leachate systems, and capping, while maintaining safety and reporting on environmental indicators.

Requirements include a civil/chemical/environmental engineering degree, proficiency in MS Office/Google apps, and strong English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Proficient in MS Office / Google applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and operate the landfill to meet environmental and regulatory standards.
• Oversee landfill operations, including material selection and fill techniques.
• Manage WENT interface, gas extraction, leachate recirculation, surface water, and final capping.
• Conduct professional engineering work for Landfill Filling Operation and related systems to meet performance standards.
• Ensure daily maintenance and safe, effective operation of landfill facilities.
• Collect and analyze operational data; prepare reports on filling efficiency and environmental indicators.

Job Description

• Responsible for the overall planning, design, and operation of the landfill, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
• Oversee landfill operations, including the selection of fill materials, application of landfill techniques, and management of fill areas.
• Interface issues in WENT, sequence of filling against weighbridge operation, gas extraction, leachate recirculation, surface water management and final capping
• Perform professional engineering works for WENTX interface issues like Landfill Filling Operation, Landfill Gas System, and Leachate Treatment System to meet performance and environmental standards
• Responsible for the daily maintenance of landfill facilities and daily operation, ensuring safety and operational effectiveness.
• Collect and analyze operational data from the landfill, preparing reports to assess filling efficiency and environmental indicators.
