Job summary

Hercules Search Consultation Company is seeking a senior investment leader in Hong Kong to serve as Managing Director / Executive Director of Private Equity. The role owns the full investment cycle and is charged with building and leading a new PE business line within the platform.

The candidate will lead a PE team, drive fundraising, manage post-investment value creation, and work with senior management to align with the firm’s strategy and risk framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in finance, economics, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications are a plus.
• Strong track record in private equity, with solid experience across the full investment cycle (fundraising, investing, managing, and exiting).
• Proven ability to lead a team and build or scale a PE business line or fund platform.
• Experience gained from Chinese or Chinese-background investment platforms / SOE-related investment firms is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in deal origination, execution, portfolio management, and exits.
• Strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to operate independently while aligning with senior management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in Mandarin is required; proficiency in English is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with the Hong Kong and Mainland China PE market and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a dedicated private equity team covering fundraising, investing, portfolio management, and exit.
• Source, evaluate, execute, and exit PE investments with hands-on involvement across origination, due diligence, negotiation, structuring, and closing.
• Drive fundraising and capital raising activities for PE strategies / funds with institutional LPs and other capital partners.
• Oversee post-investment management, value creation, risk monitoring, and exit planning.
• Develop and implement the PE investment strategy, including sector focus and portfolio construction.
• Recruit, develop, and manage a professional investment team; establish processes and culture for a high-performing PE unit.
• Represent the firm in industry events, LP meetings, and strategic discussions; contribute to PE franchise growth and positioning.
• Work closely with Department Head and senior management to align PE with broader strategy and risk framework.
