Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking an experienced IT professional for its Derivative Systems team in Hong Kong. The role covers application development, testing, project implementation and ongoing production support for mission-critical derivatives systems.

Key duties include requirements analysis, design, development, testing, incident resolution and collaboration with IT teams, with rostered production support including night shifts and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of app development in large-scale systems, preferably in finance.
• Hands-on Linux and Java; Python/Perl/SQL/Shell advantageous.
• Experience with web apps, databases, FIX, REST APIs; SDLC understanding.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our Derivative Systems team. The incumbent will be responsible for application development, testing, project implementation and production support of mission-critical Derivative Systems.

Job Duties

• Perform system development and project implementation, including requirement analysis, effort estimation, development, testing and documentation.
• Design, develop and enhance applications using modern technologies.
• Perform system and application testing, defect analysis and verification of fixes.
• Investigate and resolve application defects, production incidents and technical issues.
• Perform quality reviews of software design and code changes.
• Collaborate with IT teams on development, testing, implementation and production issues.
• Participate in rostered production support, including night shifts and public holidays, as part of the overall development and support responsibilities.
• Undertake other assignments and projects as required.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 10 years of application development experience in large-scale systems, preferably in financial services industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux and Java, with knowledge of Python, Perl, SQL and Shell scripting being advantageous.
• Experience in web applications, databases, FIX protocol and REST APIs.
• Experience in microservices, containerised architecture and cloud technologies would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate application and production issues independently.
• Experience in derivatives markets and risk management models such as SPAN and/or VaR would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of SDLC methodology and documentation.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
