Job summary

Responsibilities

Division/Section/Unit: Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises

Job Title: Principal Manager (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science)

Entry Requirements

• (a) minimum five years of relevant full-time work experience in artificial intelligence, data science and/ or innovation and technology sectors, preferably in managerial role;
• (b) previous work experience in investment promotion, account management, business development, marketing; and project management in artificial intelligence, data science, and/ or innovation and technology or public sectors would be an advantage;
• (c) a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, more advanced degree(s) and/or professional qualification(s) would be an advantage;
• (d) strong knowledge of and experience in the local and global artificial intelligence, data science, and/ or innovation and technology related sectors;
• (e) extensive network in the artificial intelligence, data science, and/ or innovation and technology ecosystem;
• (f) strong team spirit, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
• (g) be adaptable, open-minded, and equipped with strong interpersonal skills. Be able to proactively learn new skills, embrace new assignments, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
• (h) an international perspective with a good understanding of the Mainland and Hong Kong business environment, Hong Kong’s unique role and contributions to the national policies; and
• (i) a strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including spoken Putonghua).

Duties

• (a) providing support in engaging and negotiating with strategic enterprises from the artificial intelligence and data science industry, and offering aftercare services;
• (b) assisting Chief Manager and Deputy Chief Manager in providing one-stop services to and formulating tailor-made packages for strategic enterprises to facilitate setting up/expansion of their operations in Hong Kong;
• (c) developing, implementing and supporting OASES’ outreaching and promotional activities;
• (d) liaising and coordinating with relevant Government bureaux/departments, public bodies, and other internal and external stakeholders;
• (e) engaging and maintaining close contact with multipliers and other stakeholders from the artificial intelligence, data science, innovation and technology ecosystem, with a view to raising OASES’ profile within the industry;
• (f) conducting desktop research and keeping abreast of artificial intelligence, data science, innovation and technology knowledge, market intelligence and their latest development; and
• (g) performing any other duties as required.

Terms of Appointment: The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service agreement terms for 24 months, which is renewable at the Government’s discretion.

Fringe Benefits

• Fringe Benefits An end-of-agreement gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the agreement period.
• The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
