Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Hong Kong-based Product Development team. You will lead the full lifecycle for high-speed fiber-optic transceivers, driving circuit schematic design, PCB layouts, and manufacturing documentation with cross-functional partners.

Strong hands-on hardware validation, DFx collaboration with suppliers, and advanced SI/PI simulations will shape next‑gen transceivers. Proficiency in English and Cantonese/Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
• Fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in the full product development lifecycle for high-speed fiber-optic transceivers.
• Design circuit schematics and develop substrate/PCB layouts, generating manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with PCB/substrate/FPC suppliers, conducting DFM reviews.
• Perform SI/PI simulations and optimize based on results.
• Conduct EVT/DVT and failure analysis for transceiver products.
• Evaluate new electronic devices/components for future products.
