Job summary

Capco is seeking a Principal Consultant in Hong Kong to shape and lead payments transformation programs. You will partner with financial institutions to define strategies, assess current capabilities and design operating models for domestic and cross-border payments.

You will guide discovery sessions, craft target architectures and deliver executive-ready recommendations, while collaborating with senior clients across the APAC region.

The Role

As a Principal Consultant within Capco's Banking & Payments practice, you'll help leading financial institutions design, transform and modernise their payments capabilities. Combining deep payments expertise with strong consulting and technology knowledge, you'll lead complex engagements from discovery through to solution design and delivery.

You'll work closely with senior client stakeholders to define payment strategies, assess current state capabilities, and develop target operating models and technology solutions across domestic and cross-border payment ecosystems. As a trusted advisor, you'll bring industry insight, structured problem solving and strong communication skills to help clients navigate evolving customer expectations, regulatory requirements and industry change.

What You'll Do

• Payments consulting: Lead strategic and transformation initiatives across retail banking payments, helping clients optimise payment processes, operating models and technology capabilities.
• Discovery and solution design: Facilitate workshops, conduct assessments and lead discovery activities to define business requirements, target-state architecture and delivery roadmaps.
• Solution architecture: Design end-to-end payment solutions across domestic and cross-border payment ecosystems, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs and regulatory requirements.
• Client advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing insights into market trends, emerging technologies and payments innovation.
• Consulting excellence: Develop high-quality presentations, executive papers and client deliverables, translating complex concepts into clear and compelling recommendations.
• Leadership and delivery: Lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships and support business development efforts across the Banking & Payments practice.

What We're Looking For

• Deep expertise within retail banking payments, supported by strong technology and solution design experience.
• Proven experience leading discovery workshops, requirements gathering activities and solution architecture engagements.
• Strong understanding of domestic and cross-border payment ecosystems, including local regulatory and compliance considerations.
• Experience delivering large-scale payments transformation programmes within financial services.
• Excellent consulting, stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling client presentations and strategic recommendations.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to engage effectively with business and technology stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working with leading financial institutions in Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
