Job summary

uSMART Securities Limited is seeking a Portfolio Manager (KIP for ETF) in Hong Kong to lead day-to-day ETF and public fund investment activities, including decision-making, portfolio construction, trade execution and rebalancing.

The role involves acting or being nominated as Key Investment Personnel (KIP), coordinating with Compliance and other functions, and working to enhance the Type 9 license for public funds and ETFs, with English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or another relevant discipline.
  • At least five years of hands-on investment management experience directly managing publicly offered ETFs or comparable exchange-traded funds.
  • A demonstrable track record in ETF portfolio management, including portfolio construction, index replication, rebalancing and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of daily ETF operations, including PCF, creations and redemptions, index rebalancing, tracking error, valuation and reconciliation.
  • Good knowledge of SFC requirements relating to Type 9 regulated activity, public funds and ETFs.
  • Current approval as Type 9 Responsible Officer, or relevant qualifications and experience to be approved as a Type 9 Responsible Officer and public fund KIP, is preferred.
  • Prior involvement in a Type 9 license enhance, public fund authorization application or ETF launch is preferred.
  • Strong investment judgement, risk awareness, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the company in enhancing or varying the scope of its existing Type 9 license to manage SFC-authorised public funds and ETFs
  • Assist in preparing licensing submissions, business plans, policies, procedures and supporting materials, and respond to enquiries from the SFC

  • Manage the day-to-day investment activities of ETFs and public funds, including investment decisions, portfolio construction, trade execution and rebalancing

Oversee daily ETF operations, including creations and redemptions, PCF, corporate actions, valuation, position and cash reconciliation

Work with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product, Information Technology and external service providers to establish and enhance the public fund management platform

Job Requirements:
