Job summary

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of quantity surveying, including measurement, costing, and preparation of bills of quantities.
• Understanding of construction contracts and commercial management concepts, such as variations, claims, and procurement processes is an advantage.
• Ability to use basic office and construction-related software (e.g., MS Excel, Word; familiarity with BIM tools or QS software is an advantage).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work in a structured project environment.
• Ongoing or completed studies in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• Good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese) is an asset for local project coordination.
• Willingness to learn, professional attitude, and availability to work part-time on-site in Hong Kong SAR.
• priorities will be given to current surveying students at HKU, HKPU and CityU of HK who are interested to pursue a QS career in future.

Role Description

The Part-time QS Assistant will support quantity surveying and commercial management activities for construction and property development projects. This on-site role, based in Hong Kong SAR, includes assisting with measurement and preparation of pricing documents, cost estimates, and tender documents, as well as updating cost data and project records. The QS Assistant will help review contract documents, track variations and claims, and compile expert reports under the guidance of senior team members. The role also involves coordinating with project stakeholders, maintaining accurate documentation, and performing other related contract administration and technical tasks as assigned.
