Youth College of the Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong seeks an Assistant Lecturer for Information Technology and Mathematics at sub-diploma level. The role includes teaching duties, supervision of projects, and contributing to curriculum development.

Candidates should have a relevant IT/CS degree, teaching experience, strong English and Chinese communication, and a commitment to engaging youth; industry links and willingness to work beyond normal hours may be required.

Qualificações

• A relevant recognized degree in Information Technology, Multimedia, and Computer Sciences, or relevant discipline, preferably with post-graduate qualifications.
• At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience related to Information Technology.
• Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; preferably including Putonghua.
• Strong commitment to serve the youth and with experience in managing less academically-inclined students.
• Preferably with experience in teaching sub-diploma courses, curriculum design and development, student admission, discipline and related work.
• Good records of linkage with industry/ professional bodies.

Responsabilidades

• To perform teaching duties in Information Technology and Mathematics modules at sub-diploma level, including supervision of students’ projects / fieldwork placement and other academic activities.
• To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration.
• To assist in updating and developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials.
• To assist in the validation and accreditation of programmes.
• To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
• To participate in campus projects, events and functions such as open days, admission, short courses, consultancy services and taster programmes.
