Job summary

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung) invites applications for a Nutrition teaching position in the Department of Health and Life Sciences. The role includes supervising student projects, fieldwork placements, and contributing to academic administration.

The successful candidate will develop programme curricula and teaching materials, and participate in departmental projects, seminars and exhibitions.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in food and nutrition, or related disciplines.
• Experience in teaching and student supervision is preferred.
• Strong English and Chinese communication and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach nutrition topics and supervise student projects and fieldwork.
• Assist with student/academic administration tasks.
• Develop curriculum materials and assessments as needed.
• Participate in departmental projects, seminars and exhibitions.

Major Duties

• (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students projects and fieldwork placement
• (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
• (c) To develop programme curriculum, teaching materials, assignment / test paper if necessary and
• (d) To participate in departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements

• (a) A recognised degree in food and nutrition, or related disciplines
• (b) At least 3 years relevant teaching / industrial experience in relevant areas, e.g., nutritional services, health food products business, food or catering services, and etc.
• (c) Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese and
• (d) Good network with the nutrition and health related industry.

• (1) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
• (2) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
