Job summary

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung) is seeking a lecturer in Food and Nutrition to teach and supervise students’ projects and fieldwork placements, while supporting student administration and curriculum development.

The role involves contributing to departmental projects, seminars, and consultancy services, with strong English and Chinese communication essential. Shortlisted candidates may undergo a written assessment and SCRC checks at advanced stage.

Qualifications

• Degree in food and nutrition or related disciplines.
• At least 3 years’ teaching/industrial experience in relevant areas.
• Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese.
• Good network with the nutrition and health related industry.

Major Duties :

• To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
• To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
• To develop programme curriculum, teaching materials, assignment / test paper if necessary; and
• To participate in departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements :

• A recognised degree in food and nutrition, or related disciplines;
• At least 3 years’ relevant teaching / industrial experience in relevant areas, e.g., nutritional services, health food products business, food or catering services, and etc.
• Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; and
• Good network with the nutrition and health related industry.

• Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
• In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
