Job summary

East IP Limited in Hong Kong seeks an IP attorney to support local and multinational clients on trademark matters involving HK and PRC, with global coordination of IP portfolios. You will coordinate with overseas associates and draft legal documents for investigations and prosecutions.

The role requires fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese, strong MS Office skills, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Hong Kong-based position with potential travel to China.

Qualifications

• Degree in law: LLB, JD or equivalent from PRC, HK or other jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trademark prosecution and enforcement for HK/PRC and multinational clients.
• Coordinate with overseas associates on global IP portfolio management.
• Draft and prepare legal documents for investigations and prosecutions.
• Liaise with clients, external parties and government agencies as needed.
• Perform verification and due diligence checks; conduct conflicts checks.

About the role

This role will support local Hong Kong, PRC, and multinational clients on intellectual property matters involving both Hong Kong and China, as well as global coordination of IP portfolio work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist primarily with trademark prosecution and/or enforcement of trademarks and other IP rights for local Hong Kong, PRC, and multinational clients
• Coordinate with overseas associates and agents on the global management of IP portfolios
• Conduct online surveys and analyze findings to identify and assess potential infringement activities
• Draft and prepare legal documentation for investigations and prosecutions
• Liaise with clients, external parties, and government agencies as needed
• Perform verification and due diligence checks
• Conduct conflicts checks for new matters
• Travel to China when required

About you

• LLB, JD or equivalent degree holder from a recognized institution in the PRC, Hong Kong, or other jurisdictions
• Diploma holders will also be considered
• Preferably 1-2 years of relevant intellectual property experience, particularly in trademark prosecution and/or enforcement matters
• Fresh graduates will also be considered
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and flexible
• A proactive learner and strong team player
