Canonical is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer for Open Source and Linux. This globally remote role involves working from home with teams aligned to time zones.

You will shape product roadmaps, focus on UX, and write high-quality code for scale, while engaging with the open source community and enterprise customers. The role requires exceptional academic performance, an undergraduate CS/STEM degree, and Ubuntu/Linux experience.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record in school and university.
• Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.

Responsibilities

• Shaping the roadmap for your product at global sprints every six months.
• Focusing on design and user experience, even for developer tooling and CLI apps.
• Writing high quality, resilient and performant code serving millions of users.
• Mastery of key programming languages and Linux system knowledge.
• Engaging with users and the open source community through reviews and issue trackers.
• Responding to customer issues with enterprise-awareness and speed.
• Developing security awareness in software design and implementation.
