Job summary

Susquehanna is seeking a trading technology engineer in Hong Kong to support, deploy, and automate a highly distributed on-premises microservices platform powering trading systems across Asia Pacific. You will collaborate with developers, traders and external parties, improving deployment, monitoring and operational reliability using Octopus Deploy, GitLab, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of commercial experience in financial services or a similarly demanding production environment, ideally in trading or trading technology.
• Experience supporting highly distributed, microservices-based systems in production.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues and external parties.
• The ability to handle tight deadlines and shifting priorities in a trading-room environment.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in the in-house trading systems and the distributed microservices platform.
• Collaborate with trading system developers on design, releases, and operational readiness to ensure features run reliably in production.
• Scope and build out new sites end-to-end, covering hardware, network, cluster deployment, and monitoring.
• Support, deploy, and troubleshoot microservices across the on-premises Service Fabric/Kubernetes environment.
• Troubleshoot service-to-service communication (gRPC) and multicast data feeds across the platform.
• Automate deployments using Octopus Deploy, GitLab pipelines, and Ansible.
• Automate configuration and routine operational tasks using Python and PowerShell scripting.
• Support, build, and improve monitoring and observability (metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting) using Grafana/Prometheus/ELK.
• Act as the link between traders, in-house technology teams, and external parties (exchanges, vendors).
• Find ways to improve stability, resilience, and reliability of the platform through better use of technology.
• Develop automated system tests to validate releases before they go live.
• Keep technical and user documentation up to date for the systems you support.
