Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a contract professional to support daily operations and projects within the Cash Trading business. You will collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to market structure optimization through feasibility studies.

Role requires a university degree in finance/economics, 1+ year of relevant experience, and strong English/Chinese communication. Knowledge of HK cash market and Stock Connect is a plus; on-site role at Exchange Square.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, economics or related business field.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience; banking/financial industry preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Strong technical understanding of the Hong Kong cash market; Stock Connect experience an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing HKEX strategic projects including market structure and Stock Connect initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of cash trading initiatives, requirements, and testing.
• Participate in market and policy research related to market development for strategic projects.
• Prepare write-ups, management papers, reports and presentations in English and Chinese.
• Perform other duties as delegated by management.

Job Duties:
Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution and implementation of HKEX's strategic projects, including but not limited to the Hong Kong market structure and Stock Connect related projects
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of project initiatives which affect cash trading, on areas including but not limited to impact assessment, system changes requirements and testing of these relevant changes
• Participate in various market and policy research relating to market development for the execution of strategic projects
• Assist in the preparation of write-ups, management papers, reports, proposals and presentation materials (both in English and Chinese)
• Perform other duties as delegated and assigned by management

Requirements

• University degree holder preferably in finance, economics or other business-related subjects
• At least 1-year relevant work experience, experience in banking or financial industry would be an advantage
• A self-starter, team player and good communicator with sound judgment and good problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical skills and understanding in Hong Kong cash market and Stock Connect a definite advantage
• Strong business sense with ability to multitask across priorities and deadlines
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) with excellent communications skill and proactive attitude
