Job summary

St. James’ Settlement is seeking a candidate to support Day Service operations at the Eastern District Support Centre. The role involves liaising with EM communities, organizing groups and activities, and providing interpretation and translation services.

Publicity materials and reception support are also part of the duties. Applicants should be able to communicate effectively in Chinese or English, with proficiency in several languages, and have experience in social services preferred.

Qualifications

• Be able to communicate effectively in Chinese or English, both in written and spoken forms.
• Be proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, Nepali, Urdu, Punjabi, Tagalog, Thai, Hindi or Vietnamese, in written and spoken forms.
• Experience in social services preferred

Responsibilities

• Establishing contact and maintaining liaison with the ethnic monitories (EMs) communities to gauge their service needs
• Preparing and conducting groups, programmes and various activities, including but not limited to those for EMs
• Providing simple interpretation and translation service to EMs
• Assist in the production of publicity/promotion materials
• Assist in manning the reception/mobile service counters
