Michael Page International (Hong Kong) Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead maintenance across our client’s transportation infrastructure in Hong Kong. You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, oversee asset lifecycle management, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

You will manage capital projects, upgrades, and refurbishment efforts while mentoring engineering teams and coordinating with contractors to optimise reliability

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in asset-intensive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering maintenance activities across facilities and transportation systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability.
• Oversee lifecycle management, inspection, testing and performance improvement for mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory and engineering standards.
• Manage projects including equipment upgrades, refurbishment and capital initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, risk reduction and cost optimisation.
• Supervise contractors and service providers to meet quality and safety requirements.
• Prepare budgets, resource plans and technical reports for senior management.
• Develop and coach engineering teams.

Job Description

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering maintenance activities across operational facilities and transportation systems.


• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability and availability.


• Oversee lifecycle management, inspection, testing, and performance improvement programmes for mechanical equipment and infrastructure.


• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, statutory, regulatory, and engineering standards.


• Manage engineering projects including equipment upgrades, refurbishment programmes, and capital improvement initiatives.


• Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and cost optimisation initiatives.


• Manage contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality and safety requirements are met.


• Prepare maintenance budgets, resource planning, and technical reports for senior management.


• Lead and develop engineering teams through coaching, succession planning, and performance management.

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.


• Chartered Engineer or relevant professional membership is an advantage.


• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience


• Experience managing critical asset maintenance within transportation, cable-driven systems, rail, theme park, infrastructure, utilities, aviation, industrial plants, or other asset-intensive environments.


• Strong knowledge of maintenance management, reliability engineering, and asset lifecycle management.


• Proven track record in contractor management and project delivery.


• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.


• Familiarity with safety management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.


• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
