Job summary

Fleet Management Limited seeks a Data Engineer to build scalable pipelines powering analytics for 600+ ships. You will design cloud data lakes/warehouses and ETL/ELT processes, enabling real-time insights for Nova dashboards used by staff and clients.

You’ll ensure data quality, security, and reliability across global operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance maritime intelligence. You’ll work with SQL, PySpark and Airflow, manage Spark/Trino environments, and engage

Qualifications

3+ years' experience in a Data Engineering role using SQL, PySpark and Airflow.
Strong understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehouse design principles.
Hands-on experience in cloud-based ETL/ELT with AWS EC2, S3, EMR.
Ability to manage and enhance Spark and Trino environments.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle databases.
Clear English communication in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage cloud-based data lakes, warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and APIs ingesting data from ships and external sources.
Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, resolve bottlenecks, ensure 24/7 scalability and reliability.
Implement data quality checks, encryption and compliance standards for telemetry data.
Use Airflow to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention in pipelines.
Collaborate with Data Scientists to prepare datasets for predictive models and troubleshoot issues.
Document source-to-target mappings and data dependencies for self-serve analytics.
