Job summary

Ampd Energy is building Enernet, a cloud platform for fleet monitoring, alarms, and reporting. This role owns the engineering that keeps the platform fast, reliable, and scalable as the device count grows from hundreds to thousands.

You will drive data pipeline reliability, evolve APIs, and reduce infrastructure costs while ensuring observability and safe changes across the stack. This is a hands-on, senior position in a growing team.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years building and operating production backend systems with high-throughput streaming.
• Kafka partitioning, consumer groups, rebalancing, ordering, idempotency, and schema evolution with SQL/Timeseries DB skills.
• Designing secure, low-latency GraphQL/REST APIs serving web and mobile clients.
• Live migrations with parallel writes, shadow validation, staged cutover, rollback.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and AWS in production (ECS, IoT Core, networking, Terraform/IaC).
• Go experience is a plus; focus is pipeline judgement over language.
• Strong documentation to communicate architecture and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline stability at scale: stabilise telemetry path, optimize latency and throughput, with observability.
• API evolution: extend GraphQL contracts without breaking clients.
• Production health: contribute to incident response and reduce support load.
• Cross-functional delivery: collaborate with firmware, service, and commercial teams to transform telemetry into tooling.
