Job description

As a core member of the Compliance team, you will support the Head of Compliance in managing regulatory compliance strategy execution, license acquisition, and ongoing regulatory maintenance across key jurisdictions. This role focuses heavily on aligning our business model with local and international licensing requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Licensing & Regulatory Strategy: Collaborate with legal, product, and business teams to drive the application, modification, and maintenance of cross-border payment and digital asset licenses in major operating jurisdictions, ensuring fully compliant and licensed operations.
• Business Model & Product Alignment: Evaluate business models, expansion plans, and product development lifecycles to ensure seamless alignment with local and international licensing requirements and regulatory expectations. Provide ongoing regulatory advice to product and engineering teams.
• SFC & Cross-Border Payment Regulation: Deeply research and enforce regulatory requirements under the Hong Kong SFC regime as a core priority. Additionally, provide strategic support on global cross-border payment regulations (e.g., MSO, MSB) where applicable.
• Regulatory Liaison & Maintenance: Act as a key liaison with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), relevant law enforcement agencies, and overseas regulators as needed. Support regulatory inquiries, reporting, site inspections, compliance audits, and investigations.
• Regulatory Monitoring & Policy Enhancement: Monitor global regulatory trends, policy changes, and enforcement actions. Translate regulatory developments into actionable internal policies, procedures, and controls for general compliance and licensing maintenance.
• Compliance Culture & Training: Proactively advise business operations on general compliance requirements and conduct regular regulatory updates and compliance training for management and employees.

Qualifications:

• Experience Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. Minimum 5–8 years of regulatory compliance experience within cross-border financial institutions, leading fintech companies, or major digital asset trading platforms.
• Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HK SFC regulatory requirements and FATF standards governing VASPs and digital assets. Demonstrated expertise in supporting end-to-end licensing applications and regulatory maintenance in an SFC-regulated or fintech environment. Familiarity with cross-border payment regulations (e.g., MSO, MSB) is preferred.
• Capabilities & Vision: Acute awareness of regulatory trends, strong commercial acumen to align compliance with innovative business models, and outstanding cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with native or bilingual proficiency in both English and Mandarin. Ability to engage fluently with international regulators, external counsel, and business partners using English as a working language.
