Job summary

HKMC Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation is seeking a Manager for the Special Assets Management team within the SME loan portfolios administered by HKMC Insurance Limited. The role focuses on recovery reporting, asset management oversight, and coordinating debt workouts while liaising with lending institutions and stakeholders.

Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and at least six years in special assets management or insolvency, with strong analytic skills and bilingual English/Chinese

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines
• Minimum 6 years’ working experience in special assets management of commercial lending or corporate restructuring / insolvency
• Strong analytical, organised and detail-minded
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power BI

Responsibilities

• Prepare recovery progress reports on problem loans for management
• Prepare reports on non-performing loan portfolio to analyze performance and support decisions
• Ensure data accuracy and maintain timely records
• Monitor the quality of special assets management and debt recovery actions, including pursuing legal remedies
• Coordinate debt workouts and assess proposals for timely completion
• Provide supervisory support and leverage technology to improve team operations
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding loan guarantee schemes

Manager (Loan Guarantee Schemes – Special Assets Management)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals who want to be part of the Special Assets Management Team for the SME loan portfolios administered by HKMC Insurance Limited (HKMCI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited.

Job Descriptions

• Prepare recovery progress reports on problem loans on a regular basis to management;
• Prepare various types of management reports on non-performing loan portfolio to analyse performance and provide insights for management decisions;
• Ensure data accuracy and maintain records in a timely manner;
• Monitor the quality of special assets management and debt recovery actions, including pursuing legal remedies against defaulted borrowers and personal guarantors, carried out by participating lending institutions;
• Work independently in coordinating and facilitating debt workouts, and assessing debt workout or repayment proposals for completion in a timely and efficient manner;
• Provide supervisory support for team operations, augment team capabilities and improve the quality, efficiency, and precision of team operations by leveraging technologies from time to time;
• Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders and provide support for matters in relation to the administration of various loan guarantee schemes;
• Undertake ad hoc assignments or projects from time to time; and
• The employment will be on contract basis subject to renewal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines;
• A minimum of 6 years’ working experience in special assets management of commercial lending or corporate restructuring / insolvency at any international accounting firm;
• Strong in analytical skills, organised, and detail-minded;
• Self-motivated, good at teamwork, and excellent presentation skills;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI), with knowledge or experience in other data reporting and analytical tools considered a plus;
• Advanced skills in Excel, including formula application, conditional formatting, and data manipulation; and
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Deputy Manager.
