Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club seeks an Investment Analyst to support day-to-day management of the Club's long-term capital, with a focus on the Fixed Income portfolio. Based in the Investment Office, you will monitor markets, assess manager performance, and produce analytical reports for decision‑makers.

The role requires 5–7 years of finance experience, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and fluency in English, with excellent interpersonal abilities. CFA/postgraduate credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of industry experience with financial markets.

• Advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Excellent understanding of financial markets and derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day investment management of the Club's long-term capital, specifically fixed income.
• Carry out day-to-day monitoring of capital markets and investment portfolios.
• Assess and monitor performance of external fund managers and related risks.
• Prepare management, performance and analytical reports on a periodic basis.
• Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities through due diligence.
• Maintain proprietary and third-party systems and databases; contribute to data infrastructure projects.
• Develop quantitative tools for manager research and investment analysis.
• Support engagement with the Club's ESG policy.

About the Role

The role supports the day-to-day investment management of the Club's long-term capital, with a specific focus on the Fixed Income portfolio. It sits within the Investment Office under the Finance Division, which manages investments, operations and risk matters related to the Club's portfolio. The Finance Division acts as a key business partner, balancing oversight with support and working proactively and collaboratively to deliver insights, enable solutions and drive financial stewardship. The investment team evaluates and recommends investment strategies for the Club's financial assets and monitors external fund managers and related risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day investment management of the Club's long-term capital, specifically the Fixed Income portfolio.
• Carry out day-to-day monitoring of capital markets and investment portfolios.
• Assess and monitor the performance of external fund managers and related risks.
• Prepare management, performance and analytical reports on a periodic basis.
• Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities through in-depth due diligence.
• Maintain proprietary and third-party systems and databases, and contribute to projects that enhance the data infrastructure.
• Develop and utilise quantitative tools for manager research and investment analysis.
• Support the engagement process relating to the Club's Environmental, Social and Governance policy.
• Keep abreast of the latest market and business developments in the financial industry.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
• Financial markets knowledge through 5 to 7 years of industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Excellent understanding of financial markets and derivatives.

Preferred Skills

• Postgraduate degree and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
• Experience in global fixed income markets and/or manager research.
• Programming knowledge (SQL, VBA, Python, etc.).
