Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) seeks a Trading Platform Engineer for its Systematic Technology team to ensure reliability, observability, and performance of a low-latency trading platform.

You will own production support, monitor system health, respond to incidents, and collaborate with trading, quant researchers, and software engineers to improve dashboards, automation, and operational controls. This role emphasizes real-time problem solving and ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in production engineering, SRE, or application support in real-time trading environments.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, alerting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting front-office users in a fast-paced environment.
• Scripting or automation experience in Python or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for a high-performance, low-latency trading platform in a live trading environment.
• Monitor system health, trading workflows, and platform behavior to ensure reliability.
• Respond to production incidents, drive triage and resolution, and coordinate across teams.
• Support front-office users by investigating trading issues and answering workflow questions.
• Own and improve monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and dashboards across the trading platform.
• Develop and enhance automation, runbooks, and operational tools to reduce risk.
• Perform root cause analyses on production issues and drive follow-up actions.
• Support release processes, change management, and controlled production rollouts.
• Monitor data quality and platform behavior across trading and market data processes.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve recoverability and observability of trading apps.
• Help define and maintain operational standards and production controls.
