Job summary

The Insurance Authority invites applications for the role reporting to Senior Manager (Long Term Business). The incumbent will supervise the team, perform prudential supervision of authorized life insurers through financial risk monitoring, and provide actuarial advisory support to facilitate decision making.

The successful candidate will possess a Fellow actuary with 6+ years' experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related discipline.
• Fellow actuary with at least 6 years of relevant experience in risk and capital management, life actuarial practice, or regulatory fields.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and supervisory standards in life insurance.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player with ability to work under pressure and a can-do attitude.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage Assistant Manager(s) and other team members.
• Perform prudential supervision of authorized life insurers through financial risk monitoring.
• Perform actuarial analysis/assessment and provide advisory support to facilitate decisions.
• Monitor insurers’ compliance with regulatory requirements under a risk-based regime.
• Liaise with industry bodies on regulation and development of the life insurance sector.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support statutory functions.
