The English Schools Foundation (ESF) King George V School in Hong Kong is seeking a library team member to supervise students, manage circulation using an ILS, and curate a multilingual collection that supports reading across the school.

The role involves collaboration with teachers, organizing events, and delivering library sessions while maintaining a vibrant, busy school environment. Prior library or children-facing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage circulation services using an Integrated Library System (ILS), including check outs, returns, and overdue books.
• Maintain the library collection, including shelving and repairing books.
• Catalogue resources in various languages, such as Chinese and English.
• Manage library subscriptions and renewals.
• Maintain the LRC space, including tidying and rearranging furniture.
• Take an active role in selecting, ordering, and managing a first‑rate library collection, tailored to the needs of the school.
• Promote and encourage reading across the school through creative book displays and book recommendations.
• Collaborate with both the library team and subject faculties on reading events, competitions, and activities.
• Deliver sessions to groups and classes (e.g. How to use the library catalogue).
• Communicate directly with students, parents, teachers, outside agencies, and schools, as appropriate.
• Ad hoc duties assigned by the line manager.
