Job description

Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (several posts) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 536574). The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Robotics, or a related engineering field, along with relevant tertiary teaching experience and demonstrated contributions to knowledge exchange, curriculum development, pedagogy, and administrative services. The Department places strong emphasis on experiential learning; proven experience in implementing such approaches will be a definite advantage.

Responsibilities

The appointees will be responsible for delivering quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including:

• Delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to course design for undergraduate and postgraduate modules;
• Supervising student capstone projects;
• Driving curriculum development and actively participating in knowledge exchange activities;
• Contributing effectively to departmental committees and administrative duties.

Those with more than five years of exceptional teaching experience at the tertiary level (or in an equivalent professional setting) who demonstrate superior pedagogical skills and leadership in curriculum design may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

Benefits

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
