Posts cover Mechanical and Aerospace engineering, risk and interdisciplinary areas aligned with CityUHK’s strategic focus on One Health, Digital Society, Smart City and related fields.

Candidates must have a PhD by appointment, demonstrate ability to build a world-class research programme, and show commitment to teaching

Qualifications

• A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Risk/Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Priority will be given to expertise in AI for science, mechanics/materials/manufacturing, thermofluids and energy systems, or control, sensing and robotics.
• Strong commitment to teaching and mentorship across undergraduate and graduate levels.

Duties

Requirements

A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Risk/Nuclear Engineering, or a closely‑related discipline. Preferences will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Artificial Intelligence for Science
• Mechanics, Materials, and Manufacturing
• Thermofluids and Energy Systems
• Control, Sensing, and Robotics

Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching across diverse student populations at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Outstanding applicants from other relevant areas will also be considered. Successful candidates are expected to have a solid foundation in their discipline, along with a proven record—or clear potential—for distinguished achievement in both teaching and research.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed‑term contract.
