HKU School of Chinese 香港大學中文學院 invites applications for a Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme, to commence 1 December 2026 on a two-year fixed-term basis with possible renewal. Applicants should hold a Ph.D.

in Chinese Language and Literature or related field and at least three years of post-qualification teaching at tertiary level or equivalent experience. Preference for expertise in classical Chinese literature.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chinese Language and Literature or related field.
• 3 years of post-qualification teaching experience at tertiary level or equivalent.
• Proven record of excellence in teaching.
• Administrative experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Teach MACLL and undergraduate courses.
• Supervise dissertations.
• Assist with MACLL field trips.
• Undertake programme administrative duties.
