Responsibilities

• Undertake teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
• Undertake duties in course/ programme/ curriculum review and development;
• Perform academic and administrative duties; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegate.

Requirements

• PhD in linguistics, applied linguistics, Chinese studies or a related field but preference will be given to candidates with background in linguistics or applied linguistics;
• Specialty in second language acquisition / theoretical linguistics / sociolinguistics;
• Having attained level 1-B or above in Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC), or holding Certificate of Qualified Provincial (or above) Examiner for PSC;
• Preference will be given to those with capacity for English-assisted teaching;
• Capacity to teach the following courses:
• Second Language Acquisition,
• Language Policy and Language use,
• Design of Courses and Textbooks / Information Technology and Chinese Language Teaching,
• Topics in SLA and Teaching Chinese, and
• Chinese Literature- or History-related courses.
