Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an Electronic Trading Platform Development Expert to own the core in-house OMS development and platform stability for our regional equity technology footprint in Hong Kong. This hands-on role drives front-office trading components from design through production rollout and provides 2nd/3rd line support.

You will collaborate with traders, sales desks and engineers across APAC/EMEA/US, applying Java Core, SQL (MSSQL), MongoDB, Python, and possibly C#.NET/C++ to build

Qualifications

• 7+ years in equities technology and business across APAC markets.
• Expert level in Java Core; solid RDMS experience (MSSQL, MongoDB, Sybase).
• Hands-on with electronic trading platforms, FIX protocol, and OMS/Execution tools like Fidessa.
• Proficiency in Python scripting; knowledge of C#.NET/C++ is a plus.
• Strong understanding of multi-threading, messaging architectures, and design patterns.

A leading global financial institution is expanding its regional Equity Technology footprint. We are seeking a hands-on Electronic Trading Platform Development Expert to take ownership core (inhouse built) OMS development, and platform stability.

In this high-impact position, you will drive the full project lifecycle for Front Office sales & trading systems while providing 2nd/3rd level application support. Working alongside a tight-knit, high-performing team in HK, you will collaborate with cross-border trading desks and engineering teams across APAC, EMEA, and the US.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Maintain: Design, code, and deploy scalable Front Office trading components, market connectivity, and order routing tools.
• End-to-End Delivery: Drive systems from initial requirements and architectural design through to production rollout and post-launch support.
• Production Engineering: Deliver reliable 2nd/3rd level application support for high-availability regional trading platforms.
• Business Engagement: Partner directly with traders, sales desks, and regional tech leads to translate trading workflows into robust technical solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Domain Expertise: ~7+ years in Equities technology and business, covering any APAC markets (either in Hong Kong, Singapore or Japan).
• Tech Stack: Expert level in Java Core. Solid RDMS experience (MSSQL, MongoDB/ Sybase) and hands on with Python scripting. Knowledgeable in other programming language e.g. C#.NET/ C++ is a plus.
• Trading Systems: Hands-on experience in developing electronic trading platforms and, or exchange connectivity. Experience in FIX protocol and branded OMS / Execution platforms like Fidessa is a plus
• Core Fundamentals: Deep understanding of multi-threading, messaging architectures, data structures, and design patterns.
• Welcome candidates from inhouse/ vendor background. Strong communication skills in English

NICE to Haves

• Knowledge of Algorithmic Trading execution flows or cross-border / back-to-back trading workflows across APAC, US, and China.
• Experience with modern DevOps tooling (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing).
