Job summary

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Lead Platform Engineer.

In this role you will:

• Delivery and support of data related infrastructure and architecture to optimise data storage and consumption across the bank, including addressing functional and non-functional requirements relevant to data in large applications.
• Design and develop applications for internal and external users focusing on the interface and front-end usability of the application.
• Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of internal and external systems, networks, products and services.
• Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data.
• Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team.
• Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
• Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
• Work with Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Platform Architect and Technical Leads to turn overall business requirements into more detailed stories; to create platform roadmaps & ensuring cost effective, compliant and appropriate architectures are developed.

To be successful you will need:

• Have in-depth functional and non-functional knowledge of cloud platforms & native services, specifically GCP and ALI.
• Have in-depth knowledge of container-based services and microservices architectures.
• Have in-depth understanding of modern development and associated tooling, integration, technology patterns and practices to design, build and continuously improve an automated end-to-end delivery.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, modern deployment, and release methodologies including automated configuration, and provisioning at scale.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Communication within the team is mainly in English.
• Good problem-solving skills. Data driven analytical approach to problem solving, looking to understand underlying causes and recommend solutions to address.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and being outside your comfort zone; Proactive and willing to lead initiatives for improvement and to resolve issues.
• Demonstrable resilience and ‘can-do’ attitude.
