Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Hong Kong is seeking a Lead eSoftware Engineer within Electronic Trading Technology to join an agile team delivering trusted market-leading technology in a secure, scalable way.

You will drive design, development, and maintenance of the algorithmic trading platform across APAC, collaborate with front-office and operations teams, and lead reliability, automation, and incident response to ensure high availability.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Familiarity with electronic trading systems and controls.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems.
• Hands-on experience in electronic trading systems, SRE, or related field.
• Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies with focus on CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes (cloud/AI/etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develops, implement, support and maintain a growing benchmark algorithmic trading platform and liquidity-seeking platform for Asian markets.
• Contributes to front-office trading team for pre/post-trade analysis and design of trading strategies and smart order routing.
• Collaborates with teams to design trading strategies and ensure robustness of the trading platform and dark pools.
• Integrates reliability into SDLC, promoting best practices in coding, testing and deployment.
• Translates client trading requirements into customized algorithmic strategies.
• Sets up A/B experiments to evaluate strategy performance.
• Ensures smooth onboarding of new clients and exposure of algo parameters to desks and downstream systems.
• Leads incident response, performs root-cause analysis, and implements corrective actions.
• Develops and maintains documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for operations and incident management.
• Fosters culture of reliability, resilience, and operational excellence across teams.
