Job summary

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Division of Life Science is seeking a Laboratory Support Assistant to help operate and maintain teaching and research laboratories. The appointee will perform routine cleaning, washing, drying and sterilizing glassware and plastics, manage waste, and help keep facilities and shared areas orderly.

They will assist in distributing and replenishing supplies, support daily lab operations, and may be required to work outside normal hours to

Qualifications

• Form 3 or above.
• Preferably with relevant work experience.
• Basic understanding of written and spoken English.
• Good communication skills in Cantonese and Putonghua.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, and sterilize laboratory glassware and plasticware.
• Assist in waste collection and sterilization procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory facilities and communal areas.
• Assist in distribution and replenishment of laboratory supplies.
• Support laboratory daily operations and other duties as assigned.
• May work outside normal hours to support seminars, academic activities, and emergencies.
