Job description

Our client, a leading Tier-1 Global Investment Bank, is seeking an experienced KDB Developer to join their Hong Kong office team. This role will focus on providing dedicated development and operational support for their core real-time FX Risk and P&L platform during local trading hours.

You will work closely with global quant and electronic trading teams to provide insights, facilitate quant research and backtesting, and build a wide range of analytical tools. The successful candidate will join a globally distributed team while collaborating closely with core engineering and product resources in in EU and APAC. We are looking for a self-motivated professional who can operate independently, communicate effectively, and deliver reliable support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time support, technical enhancements, and system monitoring for the core FX Risk and P&L platform during Hong Kong trading hours.
• Support data engineering and analysis workflows within the KDB environment.
• Collaborate with local and global team members (London, Mumbai) to ensure smooth system operation and issue resolution.
• Work independently to deliver technical enhancements and support local trading desk requirements.
• Contribute to and expand common components, tools, and APIs, focusing heavily on automation around metrics, builds, and testing.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

• Min 3 years of hands-on experience in KDB/q development.
• Knowledge or experience with Python is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of financial terms—specifically knowledge of P&L predict and market risk/data (deep knowledge of individual instruments is not required).
• Ability to work independently within a globally distributed team with excellent communication skills.
• Able to adapt and work in a fast paced environment.
