Job summary

Sinopec (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a lawyer to support day-to-day legal advisory for commercial and operational matters. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of contracts and documents, while staying current on regulatory developments in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions.

The candidate will liaise with external counsel and regulators as needed and handle various legal projects. Based in Hong Kong with the right to work locally.

Qualifications

• PQE 1–3 years from reputable international law firms or in-house legal teams of MNCs.
• Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong and relevant overseas jurisdictions.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

• Support the provision of day-to-day legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial and operational matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial contracts, legal documentation and business arrangements.
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments across key operating jurisdictions to proactively identify emerging legal risks and business opportunities.
• Liaise with external lawyers, consultants and regulatory authorities as required.
• Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned.
• Handle other legal, regulatory, or special projects as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) .

Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction is preferred.

1 - 3 years of post-qualification experience acquired from reputable international law firms or in-house legal teams of multinational corporations (MNCs).

Strong working knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong and relevant overseas jurisdictions.

Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) .

Based in Hong Kong with the right to work in Hong Kong.
