Job summary

Amethyst Partners, a quantitative hedge fund in Hong Kong, is seeking an Execution Trader to join a small office environment. You will execute equities trades for global portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate execution and managing high-touch orders.

The role requires 1–5 years of experience in execution trading, proficiency in Python or similar languages, and strong communication in Mandarin and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Economics/ Computer Science / Business Management
• Around 1 to 5 years of Execution Trader experience in global equities
• Proficiency in Python or other programming languages
• Analytical, meticulous, motivated
• Responsible, team-work, flexible to work in a small office environment
• Good communication skills, fluent in Mandarin and English

Responsibilities

• Execute equities trades for the firm’s investment portfolios, and ensure timely and accurate trade execution
• Manage high-touch equity trades requiring special handling, including manual order execution and email-based trade instructions
• Monitor trading activities and system to ensure they are run in a smooth manner and aligned with the firm’s trading direction
• Stay abreast of trading mechanisms, order placement requirements, market regulations and trading restrictions across global equity markets, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal trading policies
• Collaborate with other teams e.g. IT teams on trading and valuation reports
• Work with other team to support trading data analysis
• Maintain effective working relationships with brokers and other trading counterparties
• Other tasks related to execution trading
