Job summary

EGIS in Hong Kong is seeking a fresh graduate or early-career engineer to assist in designing and engineering façades for buildings across Asia. You will perform calculations and basic analysis under senior guidance, and help prepare reports, drawings, and technical docs.

You’ll review submissions and participate in site and factory inspections with the team. Strong communication in English and Cantonese is required, with a proactive, team-focused mindset and an interest in façade engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Civil/Structural/Mech Eng or related field.
• Fresh graduates or up to 2 years' experience.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic engineering software.
• Good written and spoken English and Cantonese.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and Asia.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic structural analysis under guidance.

• Review shop drawings, material submissions and contractor calculations.

About the Role

• Assisting with the design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.
• Carrying out engineering calculations and basic structural analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assisting in the preparation of calculation reports, drawings and technical documentation.
• Supporting the review of shop drawings, material submissions and contractor-provided calculations.
• Participating in site and factory inspections relating to façade fabrication and installation alongside senior team members.
• Participating in meetings alongside senior team members to provide engineering input to the design process.
• Daily communication with the Associates and team members to ensure project alignment.
• Developing knowledge of façade systems, materials, construction methods and relevant local codes and standards.

Requirements (Compulsory)

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant engineering or construction experience are welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and an interest in façade engineering and building design.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with engineering software.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Cantonese.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, willing to learn and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Requirements (Preferred)

• Previous internship or project experience related to façade, structural or building engineering would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software (e.g. Strand7, SAP2000).
• Familiarity with structural engineering and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong building regulations and submission requirements would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
