Job summary

Inhabit is seeking a junior engineer to assist the design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia. You will perform basic structural analysis under guidance, help prepare calculations and drawings, and support reviews of shop drawings and contractor submissions.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural/Mechanical background, basic AutoCAD skills, and good communication in English and Cantonese.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Higher Diploma in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering or construction experience welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and façade engineering.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with engineering software.
• Strong written and spoken English and Cantonese communication.
• Proactive, eager to learn and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and engineering of façades for buildings in Hong Kong and Asia.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic structural analysis under supervision.
• Prepare calculation reports, drawings and technical documentation.

Job Description

About the Role

The role includes:

• Assisting with the design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.
• Carrying out engineering calculations and basic structural analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assisting in the preparation of calculation reports, drawings and technical documentation.
• Supporting the review of shop drawings, material submissions and contractor‑provided calculations.
• Participating in site and factory inspections relating to façade fabrication and installation alongside senior team members.
• Participating in meetings alongside senior team members to provide engineering input to the design process.
• Daily communication with the Associates and team members to ensure project alignment.
• Developing knowledge of façade systems, materials, construction methods and relevant local codes and standards.

Qualifications

Requirements (Compulsory)

Skills and Experience

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant engineering or construction experience are welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and an interest in façade engineering and building design.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with engineering software.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Cantonese.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive, willing to learn and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Requirements (Preferred)

• Previous internship or project experience related to façade, structural or building engineering would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software (e.g. Strand7, SAP2000).
• Familiarity with structural engineering and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong building regulations and submission requirements would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
