Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and operate event-driven microservices powering structured-products negotiations and trading. You will create stateless Java services, transform and route Kafka messages, and ensure robust production observability.

Join a cross-asset, APAC/AMER/EMEA-aligned team, collaborating with product and support to deliver secure, scalable connectivity for distributors and venues. Experience with Java, Spring, Kafka, and Kubernetes is required.

Qualifications

• 6 years deep hands-on experience with modern Java, Spring Boot and reactive stack.
• Strong testing mindset with JUnit 5, Mockito and reactor-test.
• Experience with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Confluent Schema Registry and Avro.
• Familiarity with Maven, GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes delivery pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate event-driven microservices powering structured-products negotiations and trading.
• Develop stateless Java services and libraries consuming and transforming Kafka messages.
• Ensure robust operation with error handling, schema evolution and observability.
• Deliver services across environments, contributing to CI/CD, Kubernetes deployments and support.

You will join the Client Connectivity pod within Cross-Asset Structured Products crew, working withengineers across a portfolio of trading-connectivity services and platforms. POD is spread across APAC,AMER and EMEA locations. You will collaborate closely with product, support and platform teams to deliversecure, resilient solutions for distributors, venues and internal users.

Responsibilities

• As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, build and operate event-driven microservices that powerstructured-products negotiations and trading. The solution enables the routing, transformation, enrichmentand exchange of communications between internal and external partners.We are looking for someone who can:
• design, build and test stateless Java services and shared libraries that consume, transform andproduce Kafka messages
• ensure reliable and secure operation through robust stream error handling, schema compatibility,deterministic behavior and production-ready observability
• deliver services across multiple environments, contributing to GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetesdeployments and operational support
• write high-quality unit and integration tests, review code and promote consistent engineeringstandards across a broad application estate
• integrate external trading platforms and venues with internal instrument, reference-data and productservices, including FIX connectivity

SKILLS

Must have

• 6 years deep hands-on experience with modern Java, Spring Boot, dependency injection, configuration, SpringWebFlux, Project Reactor and Spring Security
• strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Reactor Kafka, Spring Kafka, Confluent SchemaRegistry, Apache Avro and schema evolution
• a strong testing mindset using JUnit 5, Mockito, AssertJ, reactor-test, JSON comparison and Kafka testtooling, including deterministic and parameterized tests
• experience with Maven, GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes-based delivery; familiarity with Node and npmis beneficial
• experience designing stateless microservices
• familiarity with Micrometer, Prometheus, Actuator, OpenTelemetry, Log4j2, Splunk integration andHashiCorp Vault (good to have)
• an understanding of structured products, RFQ and quote workflows, order routing, trade lifecycleevents, pricing subscriptions and reporting is beneficial
• experience with AI solutions, MCP servers and AI agents is a plus
• Strong technical communication skills, a collaborative approach to code reviews, and the ability to thrive within regulated environment
